taxis

In my gift-ontology, taxis means ordered relational pattern. It names the irreducible ordering “from the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit.” Taxis is not hierarchy of essence and not a temporal sequence. It is the order of origin and the ordered manifestation of the one inseparable divine act. It is essential to this approach because it blocks the mishearing of “pure act” as a neutral core behind the persons. The one act is already triune in its manner of subsisting and manifesting. Taxis is therefore the grammar by which one can speak personally without dividing agency and without positing a God behind the Trinity.
