analogy
In my gift-ontology, analogy is the rule that permits real positive predication of God without univocity and without equivocity. God is not in the same category as creatures. Creaturely modes of being, causing, relating, and personhood cannot be projected univocally into God. Yet God-talk is not empty. Analogy secures both: real reference and real truth, with a difference of mode. Analogy governs how terms like “cause,” “relation,” “person,” “gift,” and “fromness” function. It prevents “relation-first” from becoming “relation-only” or “network metaphysics.” It also prevents “simplicity” from being heard as emptiness. Under analogy, fullness is real, but not as an assembled composition.
